Scouting America has made changes to many of the merit badges and effective 1/1/2026.  If your Scout has already started any of the merit badges that have been changed, that is OK.  Your Scout can either choose to utilize the requirements that were in effect when they started the badge OR they can choose to utilize the new requirements.  To learn which merit badges are impacted and how things will change, please check out this article.  Scouts BSA Advancement Updates Effective January 1, 2026 | Scouting America

If your renewal is due by 12/31 (most of our Troop) you want to do that before your renewal time lapses.  

If your Scout wants to participate in Klondike Derby on January 31st the sign up is live!

We are slowly getting more information about Summer Camp at Tomahawk.  Here is what we know so far:

February 1st - Program Catalog should be available, these will be distributed to the Scouts so we can start planning merit badges

Most of the Troop will be or has recently received notification via email of the annual recharter/renewal process.

Assuming your Scout has enough funds in their Scout Account this is an expense that can be reimbursed to you.
