The Scouts are at Summer Camp and ready to have a great week.

Communications will go out next Sunday for estimated time back home.  <

Summer Camp Logistics

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2026 - 6:06pm

Trailer loading will be happening at the Frideres home on Friday June 26th after 6 pm.  The trailer will not be loaded on Saturday so you MUST get your Scout's tent, pack etc to them on Friday.

ATV Riders

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2026 - 5:57pm

If your Scout is participating in the ATV rides at Camp remind them to pack long pants and close toe shoes so that they can participate.

Food during travel to and from Camp

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2026 - 5:37pm

The Troop will be stopping for a sack lunch on Saturday on the way to Summer Camp, so everyone will need to have a lunch packed. On the way home from Summer Camp, the vehicles will be stopping at a restaurant to have a meal. Please be sure to have some money set aside for your Scout to use for that meal. If you want to put that money in an envelope so that they can't accidentally spend it on slushies at Camp, one of the adults will be happy to hold onto the envelope for you.

Needed Items for Summer Camp Merit Badges

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2026 - 5:33pm
Several of our Scouts are signed up for merit badges at Camp that require specific items (photography - camera, weather - weather radio etc). If you do not have a camera or weather radio to send with your Scout for their merit badge, a post was made on this topic on the Troop's FB page.  Please leave a comment on that thread and we will work on trying to find the needed item. It may be that our Scouts will share items for the classes.

Smellables and Bear Training

Posted by admin on Jun 19 2026 - 5:28pm

Smellables were a hot topic of conversation at Sunday's Troop meeting. Many Point is in bear country and we are just borrowing their space for a week. Please talk with your Scout about bear safety and especially about not having anything scented in their tent or on their clothes (not even scented bug spray). Easily overlooked items, snack wrappers, deodorant, toothpaste, gum, drinks etc can easily attract critters (big and little). So having a container for their specific smellables that can be put in the trailer is what we need to plan for.
